Long Island Paddlesport Safety Symposium
Press Release
Announcing the 5th-Annual Long
Island Paddlesport Safety Symposium:
For all who paddle, or dream of paddling
- an annual public symposium for paddling
safety and education on Long Island. It will
be held this year at the Dowling College
Oakdale, New York on March 9, 2008 from
12:00 noon to 6:30 pm. Each year experts
in the sport assemble for a day of public
education. This free symposium consists of
demonstrations, lectures, and displays on many
aspects of paddling, paddling techniques and
paddling equipment. Gain information on fun
things to do from a kayak, like fishing, or
photography, and where are the best launch
sites? There are opportunities to discover
more about our amazing marine environment, and
about the lives of animals that share your
waterways, and the environmental concerns that
affect all of us.
Professional paddlers and experts in their
fields will be in attendance to share
information and answer questions. Local clubs
and organizations will be offering important
information for the paddling community. There
will be something for everyone at all levels
of paddling experience.
Because of the great success with last year’s
symposium it is again free to the public.
